Congressman Garret Graves is not running for Louisiana governor in this year's election.

Graves emailed his supporters on Tuesday with the announcement.

His 6th Congressional District includes Baton Rouge and much of the surrounding area.

Several Republicans are running, including state Attorney General Jeff Landry, who has the endorsement of the Louisiana Republican Party. State Treasurer John Schroder, State Sen. Sharon Hewitt of Slidell, and State Rep. Richard Nelson of Mandeville have also entered the race.

There are also rumors the head of LABI, Steven Waguespack, might join the race with an announcement on Thursday.

Former DOTD Transportation Secretary Dr. Shawn Wilson is the only high-profile Democrat in the running and has received the endorsement of Gov. John Bel Edwards.
