A St. Bernard Parish man is accused of stealing dozens of crab traps.

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries identified the suspect as 38-year-old Colby Guerra.

Agents were notified last week that a number of crab traps belonging to other commercial crab fishermen were on a lot Guerra had leased.

After an investigation, agents seized 30 crab traps from Guerra that had reportedly been stolen.

Theft of crab traps carries the possibility of hefty fines and jail time.
