A Louisiana lawmaker plans to introduce a bill mandating automated external defibrillators on all school campuses.

State Senator Cleo Fields's bill would require AEDs at every school in the state, from pre-schools through college.

Fields says the devices could save the lives of students, teachers, parents, or visitors.

AEDs would also be required at school sporting events.

School systems would have to pay for the AEDs themselves or with donations from the community.
