Baton Rouge's two Jewish congregations are building a consolidated place to meet and worship.

The Unified Jewish Congregation and the Jewish Congregation of Baton Rouge voted to merge in 2021.

Neither synagogue was big enough to serve the consolidated membership, so they're renovating the Unified Congregation's building on Kleinert Avenue to be their main community center.

Once the job is finished, the other location on Jefferson Highway will be sold.
