The murder trial of Oscar Lozada is scheduled to start in East Baton Rouge Parish today.
Lozada is accused of killing his wife in 2011 and then fleeing to Mexico with their daughter Angelina.
Sylviane Lozada was a teacher at Brusly High School in West Baton Rouge Parish.
Oscar Lozada was arrested in Mexico in 2018 and extradited to Louisiana.
He reportedly confessed to the murder while being questioned by investigators.
If he's convicted of second-degree murder, Lozada faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.
