Broome Addresses Crime, Public Safety Following Nightclub Shooting

Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome is speaking about crime and public safety after a shooting at a Baton Rouge nightclub wounded 12 people.

Early Sunday morning, somebody opened fire inside the Dior Bar and Lounge on Bennington Avenue off College Drive.

In her second State of the City address on Monday, Broome said the city has made some progress in dealing with crime.

She also discussed infrastructure improvements and plans to fix problems with the city's drainage system.
