East Baton Rouge Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome says she plans to run for a third term in office next year.
She announced her intentions on Tuesday during a radio interview.
Broome is a Democrat who was first elected in 2016, and was reelected in 2020.
So far, no one has announced plans to challenge Broome for the position.
The election is scheduled for November 5, 2024.
