The Coast Guard is suspending its search for four people who went missing after a helicopter crashed in the Gulf of Mexico.
A Coast Guard tweet at around noon Thursday said a helicopter carrying three oil workers and a pilot crashed about ten miles off the coast of SouthWest Pass, Louisiana after leaving an oil platform.
On Thursday night, a news statement from the Coast Guard said their crew searched about 180 square miles for eight hours, and they were now suspending the search.
They offered their condolences to the families of the four missing people.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
