The risk of severe storms is expected to continue today across the Deep South.
Damaging winds and tornadoes are possible from southeastern Louisiana to the Florida Panhandle, and flash flooding is possible from the Gulf Coast to the Tennessee Valley.
Tornadoes in the South left a trail of destruction on Tuesday, killing an eight-year-old boy and his 30-year-old mother in southwest Caddo Parish and injuring at least 20 in Union Parish.
"My prayers go out to the family as well as those who were injured or lost their homes," said Gov. John Bel Edwards.
State officials have announces that offices will close in the parishes highlighted in green in the map above at Noon. Offices in the parishes highlighted in orange were already closed for the day.
In Texas, at least five people were injured when a tornado ripped through a Dallas suburb, and two more were injured by a twister near Fort Worth.
