A potential state bill to prevent workplace discrimination against medical marijuana users is receiving support from some first responders.
The Medical Marijuana Task Force on Tuesday heard from first responders and military veterans who say cannabis has helped them deal with physical pain or mental trauma.
Democratic Rep. Mandie Landry of New Orleans was unable to get the votes last year for a nondiscrimination bill, but is likely to bring it back for another try in the next legislative session.
