Proposed 2023 Budget For East Baton Rouge Parish Increases By $45M+

The proposed 2023 budget for East Baton Rouge Parish is more than $45 million larger than this year's spending plan.

Mayor-President Sharon Weston-Broome presented the $1.8 billion proposal to the Metro Council on Tuesday.

The budget proposal includes a request for $15 million for the police department and $12 million for the fire department.

The Metro Council will vote on the proposed budget in December.
