People on both sides of the abortion issue are sounding off about possibly expanding the state's list of exceptions to its abortion ban.
When the Department of Health tried to add a condition called acrania to the exception list in August, the state asked the department to conduct a public hearing on the matter.
The hearing happened Tuesday morning, attracting medical professionals and others from statewide to discuss adding to the list of 25 exceptions.
Gov. John Bel Edwards says he supports adding rape and incest to the list.
