State officials say there's no plan to salvage a shipwreck that came to light after the drought lowered the level of the Mississippi River.
The Brookhill was a ferry that was put into service in 1895 and sank more than 100 years ago.
State Archaeologist Chip McGimsey with Louisiana's Division of Archaeology said on Monday the ship isn't historically important enough to bother recovering it.
