Energy Exec Lobbying For More Offshore Drilling Visits Lafourche Parish

The American Petroleum Institute is supporting a five-year federal lease plan that will benefit Louisiana by allowing more drilling in the Gulf.

AEI President/CEO Mike Sommers met with state and local leaders on Monday to discuss the future of oil and gas in the state.

Lafourche Parish leaders gave Sommers of a tour of Port Fourchon.

President Joe Biden's proposed five-year plan may allow up to 11 new offshore lease sales between 2023 and 2028.

Lafourche Parish leaders are hoping for a piece of the action.
