Sentencing is scheduled for January in the case of a man found guilty of killing a Zachary police officer and firefighter.
An East Baton Rouge Parish jury convicted Albert Franklin of manslaughter on Monday.
Franklin killed 41-year-old Christopher Lawton, who was trying to serve a warrant to Franklin in a Walmart parking lot in 2018.
Under Louisiana law, Franklin faces a sentence of 15 to 40 years in prison.
