East Baton Rouge Parish officials say they've reached a $4 million settlement over the troubled construction of the downtown library.

The city sued the architect and its construction partners in 2018 over potentially dangerous structural problems that led to costly delays and nearly $2 million in repairs.

The River Center Branch Library finally reopened in June 2020.

The lawsuit was dropped over the summer after the settlement was reached.
