A former Denham Springs police officer accused of inappropriate contact with a minor is in custody in Texas.
The Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office says the Louisiana State Police Fugitive Task Force and Irving Police Department Fugitive Unit arrested Joseph Copeland on Tuesday in Irving, a suburb of Dallas.
Copeland is wanted for felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile and malfeasance in office.
He awaits extradition to Livingston Parish to face charges.
