Starting sometime in 2023, a stretch of I-10 in Baton Rouge will have only one lane open in each direction because of roadwork.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announced on Wednesday that the freeway will be subjected to a widening project between Acadian Thruway and the interchange of I-10 and I-110 near Government Street.

DOTD says it's nearing completion of the planning phase for the project, which is expected to last a year.
