Central City Council OKs $500K Outlay For Drainage Project Along With EBR

The Central City Council is proceeding with a flood control plan that will also involve East Baton Rouge Parish.

Council members unanimously voted on Tuesday night to earmark $500,000 in next year's city budget for the new drainage project.

The parish had asked Central to pick up part of the cost of the flood mitigation project on the Comite River.

Central's half-million-dollar contribution leaves the other $2.5 million for the parish.

The East Baton Rouge Metro Council will discuss the partnership today.
