Raw oysters from Louisiana are linked to the deaths of two people in Florida.

Florida's Department of Health is investigating.

During the warm months of May to October, different strains of Vibrio bacteria can grow in oysters. Vibrio can cause illness in people who eat raw oysters, and can be deadly for people with certain health conditions.

One of the Florida victims bought oysters at a market in Pensacola, and the other at a restaurant in Fort Lauderdale.

Louisiana's Departments of Health and Wildlife and Fisheries are tracking to see where the oysters were harvested.
