The Baton Rouge Metro Council is discussing a six-month extension of the parish's development moratorium.

The moratorium was originally enacted for a year to improve drainage and prevent storm water from damaging homes and businesses.

District 3 Councilman Rowdy Gaudet says the council can use the extra six months to get input from the public and developers about the parish storm water plan.
