Another 42,000 Louisiana homeowners are looking for a new insurance company as of Friday.

Southern Fidelity canceled their policies, and now the no longer insured have 60 days to find new coverage.

Southern Fidelity, Lighthouse Excalibur, and Maison have dropped a total of nearly 100,000 policyholders.

Insurance Commissioner Jim Donelon says six insurers have pulled out of the state completely, and dozens more have stopped writing new policies for residents south of I-10 and I-12 because of recent hurricanes.

The state's insurer of last resort, Louisiana Citizens, is the only option for most people in the area.
