Heavy Tropical Rains Pose Flash Flooding Threat For Northern Gulf Coast

While chances of tropical development from a low pressure area in the Gulf of Mexico remained low Tuesday morning, the possibility of heavy rains associated with the system will bring a flash flood threat for Wednesday.

The National Weather Service New Orleans/Baton Rouge office says there is a slight threat for scattered flash flooding on Wednesday.

The National Hurricane Center says gradual development of the low pressure area is possible if it remains over water. It's expected to meander off the northern Gulf Coast for the end of the week.
