East Baton Rouge Parish will receive $1 million from the U.S. Government to assist with mental health efforts.

Congress is providing the funding through the BRIGHT Initiative, a federal program to treat depression in people with drug abuse problems.

The money will cover clinical services by licensed practitioners in areas with high crime rates, drug abuse, and poor housing.
