A former Baton Rouge police officer is turning himself in in connection with a gun dumping case.

Benjamin Zeringue is accused of leaving a box of weapons from three separate investigations between 2018 and 2019 in a trash pile in Central.

Zeringue is currently out on bond and accused of malfeasance, theft, and injuring public records.

The guns had apparently been missing for some time.
