Bishop Michael Duca plans to hold a special mass on the first day of hurricane season to pray that Louisiana catches a break.
It'll be the first time since 2019 the bishop has been able to hold the mass, following twoyears of pandemic cancellations.
The mass is scheduled for noon on Wednesday at St. Joseph Cathedral in Baton Rouge.
Prior to the mass, the bishop will also bless the Catholic Charities of Baton Rouge delivery truck, which delivers supplies to victims of disasters.
Hurricane season lasts from June 1 to November 30.
