Funding for a new Mississippi River bridge is encountering a setback from the House Appropriations Committee.
Lawmakers voted Monday against a recommendation from Governor John Bel Edwards under House Bill 1 to spend $500 million on a new bridge in Baton Rouge.
The Appropriations Committee decided instead to put the money into an industrial fund until they can agree how to spend it.
