A shelter in place order is no longer in effect for residents in parts of Iberville Parish following an industrial accident on Monday night.

A fire and a chlorine spill were reported about 8:40 p.m. at the Olin facility located on Dow's Plaquemine site.

The shelter in place was issued at around 9 p.m. and was lifted right after midnight.

The fire was out by 9:30 p.m. but it took crews longer to contain the chlorine spill.

No evacuations were ordered because chlorine levels outside of the plant weren't dangerously high.

No injuries were reported.
