Latest Severe Weather Threat Comes Tuesday

The Baton Rouge area once again is under the threat of severe weather Tuesday morning.

"Most of the area is under a Slight (level 2 out of 5) risk for severe weather with the northern fringe of our area under an enhanced (level 3 out of 5) risk for severe weather," says BRProud meteorologist Bryan Ramsey. "The main threat will be damaging winds. The tornado threat is quite low, but not negligible. Heavy rain will be possible, so localized flooding in low-lying areas should be watched for. Hail is not a significant risk, but certainly possible with these storms. The storms are timed for right around sunrise, give or take a couple of hours."

As for the rest of the week, expected a warm Wednesday before a cool-down on Thursday, lasting through the first part of the weekend.
