The Louisiana Supreme Court says a Baton Rouge police officer injured during a 2016 protest can sue a Black Lives Matter activist.

The court made the announcement on Friday in response to a question raised by the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals as to whether the organizer of an event that ends in a crime can be sued.

The unnamed officer claims he was seriously injured in a protest DeRay Mckesson orchestrated by bringing national attention to it on his social media pages.
