Melanie Curtin will serve life in prison with no parole after her conviction for aggravated rape and video voyeurism.

A Livingston Parish jury found her guilty in December of raping an unconscious woman in 2014 while the crime was being recorded on video.

The assault took place at the home of Curtin's lover, former Livingston Parish deputy Dennis Perkins.

A Livingston Parish judge sentenced Curtin on Monday, ignoring efforts by the defense to have the verdict overturned.

Dennis Perkins and his ex-wife Cynthia face more than 150 charges, including rape and production of child porn.
