East Baton Rouge School System: No School Closures Despite Teacher Sick-Out

East Baton Rouge School System is reporting no school closures despite a teacher sick-out.

A spokesperson tells The Advocate some staff had to be reassigned to cover classes today but certified adults were in every room.

The East Baton Rouge Parish Association of Educators wanted teachers to call in sick today in protest of the district's COVID policy.

They want schools moved to online-only in hopes of keeping Omicron from spreading.
