Mayor Sharon Weston Broome says there will likely be a lack of rapid coronavirus tests for a while, but nobody knows how long.
Broome held a news conference on Tuesday to update the public with the latest about the omicron variant and its effects on the city.
Doctors say people with symptoms who can't get tested should stay at home for five days, or until they feel better.
Health officials say the best advice is still to get vaccinations or boosters, wear masks, and avoid large social gatherings.
