East Baton Rouge District Attorney Hillar Moore is seeking the death penalty for an accused cop killer.
Prosecutors say Ronnie Kato shot and killed Baton Rouge Police Lt. Glen Dale Hutto Jr. last year.
Kato is also accused of wounding Hutto's partner, Cpl. Derrick Maglone.
The two officers were responding to the scene after Kato reportedly shot and killed his fiancée's father.
Moore said this may be only the third time he's sought the death penalty since he took office in 2009.
