The Baton Rouge Metro Council will soon have to appoint somebody to the seat for District 5.
Councilwoman Erika Greene was recently elected to be a judge on the East Baton Rouge Parish Family Court.
Before council members can appoint a new board member, Greene will issue a resignation letter, and then the official announcement about the open seat will be made.
At that point, people interested in the position will apply to the council administrator.
The council will then select the new member at a special meeting.
