The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office is offering the Crime Victims Reparations Program to residents who need it.
The program is federally funded says Jane Wood, coordinator of Crime Victim Services, and helps crime victims and their families with crime-related expenses such as medical bills, lost wages, funeral costs, temporary housing, and more.
She says the program gave nearly $600,000 to victims in East Baton Rouge Parish last year, and this year, they've already given out more.
