Louisiana abortion clinics are seeing a lot of women from Texas lately, thanks to a new law in the Lone Star State.
A staffer at Hope Medical Clinic in Shreveport says they're "flooded" with calls from Texas women, some of them from as far away as McAllen in the Rio Grande Valley.
She says they previously had about 20% of their patients coming from Texas, but it's now more than 50%.
The new Texas law prohibits abortion after an unborn child's heartbeat can be detected, or after about six weeks of gestation.
