Louisiana is rescheduling its fall elections.

Secretary of State Kyle Ardoin announced today the October 9 election will now happen November 13 while the November 13 election will happen December 11.

Ardoin says the delays will help staff and local partners better prepare for a statewide election following Hurricane Ida.

He also believes the postponements will keep traditional voting habits from being disturbed.

Ida cause widespread destruction last week after landfall in southeast Louisiana.
