The Livingston Parish community is mourning the loss of a member of the Sheriff's Department who died from COVID-19.
Sheriff Jason Ard said yesterday that Corporal Robert McKinney, a ten-year veteran of the Department, died after a weeks-long battle against the virus.
Sheriff Ard said McKinney was proud to wear the badge and loved his co-workers.
McKinney leaves behind a wife and daughter.
