Residents in the capital area are spending more money as COVID-19 restrictions continue to ease.
The East Baton Rouge Parish Finance Department released figures Wednesday revealing that nearly $923 million was spent in the parish in April.
According to reports, that's a 42 percent increase in spending compared to the same time last year amid the shutdown. Compared to 2019, figures were up 16 percent.
