State officials say they can confirm four deaths in the state directly related to severe weather and flash flooding this past week.
The Calcasieu Parish Coroner confirmed yesterday that a 61-year-old man died after his vehicle was submerged in water caused by heavy rains.
The East Baton Rouge Coroner said a 76-year-old male died when storms knocked out power and knocked out his medical oxygen equipment, and a 33-year-old victim drowned in a vehicle caught in water on Bluebonnet Drive.
Authorities also said that a Port Allen man was killed when he crashed into a canal.
