Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome and Baton Rouge Police Chief Murphy Paul are asking a judge's permission to release body camera footage of an incident involving a BRPD officer and a 13-year-old.
Viral cell phone video of the encounter that occurred Sunday shows the officer with his arm behind the child's neck, pinning him to the ground.
Because the body camera footage involves a juvenile, a judge will have to sign off on its public release.
Paul says his department will conduct a full investigation on the matter.
The officer in question has not been placed on administrative leave and remains at work.
