A number of changes are on the horizon for the Baton Rouge Police Department next year.

In a letter, Chief Murphy Paul announced that they would be changing out the cruiser fleet of Dodge Chargers and will be replacing them with Chevrolet Tahoes.

Additionally, a number of reserve officers will begin volunteering for the department starting in January.

Murphy says the new changes come as the city broke its own record in homicides this year.
