Hospitals throughout Baton Rouge are preparing for a surge of COVID-19 patients.
During a press conference Thursday, Governor John Bel Edwards said that they are expecting a spike in hospitalizations today as more coronavirus cases are being reported.
Health officials say the uptick began just after Halloween and that the hospitalizations are from all different age groups.
Hospitals like Our Lady of the Lake say they are worried that they will be short staffed for the incoming patients and encourage everyone to get their flu shots.
