The National Hurricane Center says a tropical depression headed towards Bermuda is now Tropical Storm Epsilon.
The system is forecast to be at or near hurricane strength when it reaches Bermuda later this week.
Epsilon has maximum sustained winds near 40 miles per hour and it is not moving. The storm is expected to continue to strengthen over the next 72 hours.
Forecasters also continue to watch the southwestern Caribbean Seas where an area of low pressure could form and develop into a tropical system later in the week, though the chances for that remain low at this time.
