Police say they have arrested an eleven-year-old boy who stole a school bus for a joyride from Scotlandville to Central on Sunday.
Officials say the bus was taken around 11 a.m. near Progress Head Start, and the juvenile led police on a chase that ended in a crash less than an hour later on Greenwell Springs Road.
The bus hit a gas line and was wedged into a tree, but officers said there did not appear to be any major damage.
No one was hurt in the incident, and the child's identity was not released.
Authorities say he is facing charges of theft and assault for purposefully trying to hit another vehicle.
