Five schools in East Baton Rouge Parish will be closed today as teachers plan a walkout.
Officials say those schools include Belaire High, Brookstown Middle, Glen Oaks Park Elementary, Park Forest Elementary, and Park Forest Middle.
The teachers staged the walkout to compel better cleaning and sanitizing of buildings to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
In a statement, EBR School Board apologized for the inconvenience and said that the schools will be required to make up the lost time.
All other district sites are scheduled to be open for normal operations today.
