Delta continued to strengthen as it moved through the Caribbean Sea on a forecasted path towards the north-central Gulf Coast.
While the National Hurricane Center puts the center of the storm just off the Louisiana coast on Friday as a hurricane, a landfall could happen anywhere from Louisiana to the western Florida panhandle.
Residents are urged to keep a close eye on Delta's forecast over the week.
