The East Baton Rouge Registrar of Voters Office is relocating its Coursey Boulevard early voting site due to social distancing concerns during COVID-19 pandemic.

Officials say the early voting site does not meet COVID-19 guidelines as it is one of the smallest early voting sites in the parish, but serves the second-highest number of early voters in what it calls "major elections", behind only the State Archives Building on Essen Lane.

The new site will be located at 13900 South Harrell's Ferry Road in Forest Community Park, which is larger and also has better parking.

Voting in-person services will not be available at the Coursey location.

The registrar's office says due to the Coursey relocation, voters may cast an early ballot at any of the area's early voting sites:

  • City Hall: 222 St. Louis Street, Room 607, Baton Rouge
  • State Archives Building: 3851 Essen Lane, Baton Rouge
  • Forest Community Park: 13900 S. Harrell’s Ferry Road, Baton Rouge
  • Baker Motor Vehicle Building: 2250 Main Street, Baker
  • Central Branch Library: 11260 Joor Road, Central
