Southern University is teaming up with Boeing to help students work alongside NASA scientists on a program that will send astronauts into space.
University officials say the mentoring program will put students in touch with NASA's Space Launch System program for 18 months.
Educators at Southern say they hope the new "mentor-protégé" agreement will allow more students of color to work in aerospace engineering and related fields.
